The island of Cuba, a true jewel of the Caribbean, is a destination that fascinates with its timeless charm and cultural richness. Between its white-sand beaches lined with coconut palms, its colorful colonial towns and its unique atmosphere where the rhythm of salsa echoes through every street, Cuba offers an enchanting blend of history, nature and tradition.
From Havana, with its retro architecture and vintage cars, to the idyllic beaches of Varadero and the lush valleys of Viñales where tobacco fields stretch as far as the eye can see, the island invites travelers to a complete escape, a mix of cultural discoveries, warm encounters and breathtaking landscapes.
Havana, its historic heart
Cuba, the largest and most emblematic island of the Caribbean, is a destination unlike any other, where Havana, its capital, takes you back several decades in time.

A stroll through the cobblestone streets of the city's old quarters, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the perfect opportunity to discover a story from its past at every corner. The brightly colored Spanish colonial architecture blends with the vintage American cars from the 1950s, creating a uniquely retro urban landscape.
Don't miss visiting the « Plaza de la Revolución », where iconic figures like Fidel Castro and Che Guevara made history, as well as « El Malecón », the famous seaside promenade where locals gather to watch the sunset.
Explore the small squares like « Plaza Vieja », wander through the narrow streets lined with colorful houses and take a break in legendary bars such as « La Bodeguita del Medio » or « El Floridita », favorite haunts of writer Ernest Hemingway. Havana is also a true cultural crossroads, with its museums, art galleries and live music and dance performances that make the city come alive day and night.
The legendary beaches of Varadero
About 75 miles (roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes) east of Havana, you'll find one of the world's most beautiful beaches, Varadero. This resort town is synonymous with pristine white sand and turquoise waters stretching as far as the eye can see. Varadero is the ideal spot for those seeking pure tropical relaxation. Whether you want to lounge under a palm tree, swim in crystal-clear waters, or enjoy water sports like snorkeling or scuba diving, Varadero promises days of total tranquility.
For the more curious, Varadero is more than just its beaches. The Bellamar Caves and the Hicacos Peninsula Natural Park offer stunning natural landscapes to explore, far from the crowds.
The tobacco fields of Viñales
If you want to immerse yourself in Cuba's natural beauty, head to the Viñales Valley, a rural region famous for its tobacco fields, karst mountains and authentic way of life. This is where the tobacco leaves used to make the world-famous Cuban cigars are grown and a visit to a cigar factory is a must.
The Viñales Valley, with its lush green landscapes, caves and hiking trails, is ideal for nature lovers and for those who want to experience a more authentic Cuba, far from the bustle of the cities.
You can also explore the mogotes, those unique limestone rock formations scattered across the valley and visit local farms to learn more about Cuban agriculture and get a taste of rural life.
Trinidad in the south
In the southern part of the island, the city of Trinidad is a true architectural treasure ! Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this well-preserved colonial city is known for its cobblestone streets, pastel-colored buildings and timeless atmosphere.
Stroll through the historic center to admire its brightly painted houses, visit the Museo Romántico, or climb to the top of the Torre de Manaca Iznaga, about 150 feet high, for a breathtaking view over the valley.
Just a few miles from Trinidad, you'll also find Playa Ancón, a stunning beach where you can enjoy the sun and the sea after exploring the city.
The cradle of the revolution
For history enthusiasts, a detour to Santiago de Cuba, in the eastern part of the island, is a must. The country's second-largest city is considered the cradle of the Cuban Revolution. It was here that Fidel Castro launched his revolutionary movement and the city is rich in historical monuments linked to this pivotal period in Cuba's history, such as the Moncada Barracks.
Santiago is also known for its deep musical heritage, it is the birthplace of Cuban ‘son,' a music style that heavily influenced salsa. Enjoy live music in local bars and clubs and discover the soul of Cuba through its captivating rhythms.
To the beat of lively rhythms
Cuban culture is also vibrantly expressed through dance, music and festivals. Let yourself be carried away by the energetic rhythms of salsa, Cuban son, or cha-cha-cha during an evening in a local club and dive into the festive and welcoming spirit of the Cuban people.
Where to eat ?
No trip to Cuba would be complete without tasting its unique cuisine. Cuban food, a mix of Spanish, African and Caribbean influences, is simple yet flavorful. Try traditional dishes such as ropa vieja, a slow-cooked shredded beef stew; moros y cristianos, rice with black beans; or tostones, fried plantain slices.
