Christmas is a time when the magic at Disney takes on a whole new dimension. As the holidays approach, Disney hotels transform into truly enchanted settings that delight visitors from around the world. Each hotel complex offers its own atmosphere, with massive decorated Christmas trees, sparkling lights and spectacular decorations. Walking through the lobbies of Disney hotels becomes an attraction in itself, perfect for soaking up the Christmas magic, taking memorable photos and experiencing a festive wonderland, even outside the parks.
A magical day at Disney hotels
Exploring Disney hotels in Orlando during the holidays is an experience in itself. Each property offers a unique ambiance, blending magical decorations with special Christmas traditions. To fully enjoy this magic, here is an ideal one-day itinerary to discover the most beautiful Christmas decorations at Disney hotels while immersing yourself in the enchanting atmosphere at every stop.
Departure from Disney Springs
To enjoy the Christmas decorations at Disney hotels, start your visit from Disney Springs, unless you are already staying at one of the Disney hotels we recommend visiting ! Disney Springs is the perfect starting point for visitors arriving by car, with large parking lots and a bus station integrated into Disney’s extensive transportation network. Finally, Disney Springs is also the ideal place to end your day in a festive atmosphere and enjoy dinner among the wide variety of restaurants.
Disney's Wilderness Lodge, a mountain-style Christmas
Disney's Wilderness Lodge hosts one of the most beautiful Christmas trees in all of Walt Disney World: immense and richly decorated, it stands majestically in the wooden atrium lobby. You will be enchanted by the American mountain lodge atmosphere, complete with a massive fireplace and the cozy “mountain chalet” spirit.
Disney's Contemporary Resort, modernism
After taking the ferry from Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom, head to the Contemporary Resort, located just a few minutes away from the park by monorail. This modern-design hotel offers a striking contrast to the mountain-lodge style of Wilderness Lodge. The massive Christmas tree, set outside at the hotel entrance, is elegantly decorated with geometric ornaments.
Inside, near the monorail station in the atrium lobby's “Grand Canyon Concourse” on the 4th floor of the Contemporary Resort, there is a spectacular gingerbread display for the 14th consecutive year. In 2025, this Cinderella Castle-shaped display measures approximately 17 feet tall by 25 feet wide, creating an impressive and magical centerpiece in the heart of the lobby.
Enjoy a lunch break in the hotel's iconic lobby, crossed by the monorail. The futuristic atmosphere provides a complete contrast to the more traditional Disney hotels.
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, an exotic Christmas
Take the monorail to the Polynesian Village Resort, another hotel with a unique holiday atmosphere. The tropical décor blends perfectly with exotic Christmas touches, such as twinkling garlands and shell-themed ornaments. The Christmas tree, adorned with island-inspired elements, creates a warm and immersive atmosphere, combining Polynesian influences with traditional winter holiday decorations.
Take time to stroll along the outdoor walkways to enjoy the white sand beach and take in stunning views of the lagoon, other Disney hotels and Magic Kingdom.
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, elegance and tradition
The prestigious Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, with its Victorian style, is one of Disney's most iconic hotels, famous for its luxurious and refined Christmas decorations. Admire the monumental Christmas tree in the main lobby, arguably the most famous in all of Walt Disney World, beautifully adorned with sophisticated ornaments and sparkling garlands.
Take the time to stand at the base of the tree to fully appreciate its grandeur and capture the moment with a souvenir photo. Don’t miss the life-sized gingerbread house near the reception, crafted on site: a true culinary masterpiece and one of the holiday season’s must-see attractions.
Garlands, gilded accents and an elegant atmosphere: the grand Victorian tradition is expressed here at its finest. In the lobby, live piano music accompanies the exploration of the sumptuous decorations. A stroll outside continues the immersion in the festive displays and illuminations that enhance the entire hotel complex.
Return to Disney Springs, shopping and relaxation
Take the boat back to Magic Kingdom while enjoying views of the hotel resorts from the lake, then board a bus to Disney Springs, with a stop at the bus station of Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Once at Disney Springs, end your day strolling through the shops while enjoying the festive decorations and majestic Christmas trees.
Treat yourself to dinner among the wide variety of restaurants, ranging from family-friendly options to more refined establishments, international cuisines, lively bars and iconic venues like The Boathouse.
Suggested Variations
Depending on the time you have and your interests, several options are available to explore the Disney hotels and extend your immersion in the Christmas atmosphere:
Stop by Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge stands out with a holiday atmosphere that takes a wild twist. With African-inspired decorations, you can admire Christmas trees made from natural materials, handcrafted garlands and a warm ambiance that makes you forget the winter chill. This unique setting, combined with magical decorations, creates an intimate and exotic holiday experience.
Night visit
At night, you can revisit the Grand Floridian or the Contemporary Resort to see their Christmas decorations under different lighting, admire the outdoor illuminations and also enjoy the Magic Kingdom fireworks.
